It’s such a difficult time of year when all of a sudden the weather completely changes. One minute it is so sticky and hot that our trusty jeans are just too uncomfortable to wear, then the next minute we are freezing because we didn’t wear a jacket or soaked through because we forgot to pack an umbrella. How annoying! It’s a dilemma that we all face, what do we wear in-between seasons? A fool-proof solution is to have some transeasonal fashion items in your wardrobe. These are items that can be worn in any season.
6 transeasonal fashion tips
Here are 6 transeasonal fashion tips to get you through that very awkward period in between seasons.
#1 Denim jackets
Denim jackets are great in all seasons but especially in Spring, they look good worn over summer dresses, cropped ones look great with maxi skirts and dresses. Also when it’s a bit cooler you can wear them with your coloured skinny jeans. If you don’t already own one check out one of my favs from J Brand.

#2 lightweight blouse
Add a long sleeve lightweight blouse to your collection which can be worn with the sleeves down on the cooler days and rolled up on the warmer days. Another great look is layering it with a ‘v’ neck light weight knit jumper with the collar poking out at the neck or with a colourful cardi. Try this great silk shirt from Marcs.
Add a pop of colour to a plain white t-shirt and pair of denim shorts or jeans with a casual jersey blazerI’m loving the colour and price tag of this awesome blazer from MNG. There are lots of different colours and styles on the market at the moment. You can also wear with sleeves rolled up and lots of accessories for a chic day look.
#4 Knit or cardi
A chunky striped knit or cardi is always a winner. This Tommy Hilfiger knit will keep you warm on the cooler mornings but still has the element of Spring with the stripes. It also looks great combined with a casual pair of jeans or a maxi skirt.
#5 Black heels
You can’t go wrong with a pair of black strappy heels – whether it’s special evenings now or cocktail occasions come summer. These are a great basic to have in your wardrobe and won’t go out of fashion. I love this pair from Seed, the gold clasp gives them a classy look .
A long line parka is perfect for those who want to be stylish while staying comfortable and dry. Wear the parka with a black mini skirt and blouse to keep it more feminine or wear it with jeans and heels for a casual day look.
In addition to these style tips, layering is another fabulous way to transition between seasons and create different looks. Try mixing and matching different colours and fabrics. It’s not as hard as you think, don’t be afraid to experiment!
I hope I have helped you somewhat with this tricky wardrobe phase. This time of year is the perfect opportunity to go through your wardrobe and have a good Spring clean. If this idea is too daunting why not hire a personal stylist to do the hard work for you?
